After a couple of years the plastic sheet that covers the buttons eventually gets brittle and cracks. Right now, my batteries are fully charged, but I cannot turn on the radio or even change the time. This is a great little radio. The button then seem to lose their water-resistant quality and even though I rarely get mine wet, they just stop working. For the price, I would expect this radio to last more than 2-3 years, but I'll probably purchase a 3rd one anyway because otherwise I like it. I love the preset stations and auto-off timer. Battery life is decent if you only use the radio- I virtually stopped playing CDs because CDs drain the battery much faster.The big problem is the buttons are not well designed.
Great purchase. Everything about this radio is top quality. Great reception, great battery life, cds play nicely, clock works great, it even comes with sturdy rope to hang it with.
Trust Sony. My fiance' and I listen to this Sony Shower CD Player & Clock Radio every day. Works great with our Sirius-XM Satellite Radio (which uses an "FM Modulator" to broadcast a signal throughout the house) and comes in crystal-clear.
Also, I have used it to accompany myself in musical performances. I bought a cheap adapter so I wouldn't have to use so many batteries. This little AM and FM shower radio with CD player is great. It works great for small classes and rooms. I'm very happy with both products. It is well worth the price, having both the sound and the quality of all Sony products. I don't use it in the shower, though, since I have a cheap little shower radio that works just fine.I needed a portable CD player to use in Children's Bible classes and I didn't want to haul around a big boom box.
Thanks for a great product. This was a birthday gift for my daughter, and she loves it. So far, there have been no problems with it at all.
